My name is Rob, and this is my wife, Nicole. We’ve been a client of Ascenta for approximately two years. But we knew our financial adviser, Daniel, before Ascenta was formed, and when he joined Ascenta, we followed him.
When we first got in touch with Daniel, we needed help with the future college fund for our kids, and Nicole was instrumental in arranging that and working with Ascenta. We also needed help with our retirement, I was getting to an age where I needed to start thinking seriously about what I was going to do after the next 10 years.
Nicole: We met Daniel when he was working with a different firm, and two years in, he said that he would be moving to Ascenta and we wanted to follow him.
Rob: Yes, with a financial adviser, the biggest thing for us was trust, and we trusted Daniel implicitly, so it was a no-brainer to follow him.
Nicole: I think it keeps us grounded. He looks at our financials and shows us our financials. We sometimes have grand plans. We’ll give him a call and say, “We’re going to build a house,” and he’ll pull us back and say, “Look, these are the numbers,” without judging.
Rob: He’s like, now’s not the time, and he’s right.
We’ve stayed with Daniel, for a couple of reasons. One is that he’s a great listener and just listens to where we’re going and what we’re trying to do. I think that’s the most important piece about giving advice. Secondly, he’s continually there for us if we have questions, or if we want to change our minds or change direction. He’s always around and available, which was important to us, I think.
Nicole: I know that there’s someone else who has their finger on the pulse. I know what I know, and Daniel knows what he knows. We’ll put our thoughts together and come up with a plan, as opposed to me trying to feel my way in the darkness.
Rob: I think my financial future is a lot more attainable and feels more secure working with Daniel and Ascenta.
Nicole: He works at our pace; nothing happens unless we’re ready.
Rob: If I was going to choose three words to describe our relationship with Daniel, I’d say trustworthy, sincere and smart. He’s a subject matter expert in finance.
Would I recommend Daniel and Ascenta? Absolutely! And the reason is because of the sincerity and trust that we have in him and his organisation. We feel like we’re really being looked after. We really do feel like we’re in safe hands.
